About the Director:

Simon Bergman was born in Finland, and has lived in latin countries since 8 years old. He studied cinema in Santiago de Chile, where he has achieved experience in the film industry and made his first productions. He got the highest possible score in film studies.
While studying, Simon begun working with Orlando Lubbert as Asistant Director, in preproduction labors for features; as well as shooting smaller projects. This experience taught Simon how to get money for movies and how to plan the productions.
Year 2004 he participates in illuminating experience working as 2nd Assistant Director to Raoul Ruiz, the great poet of fiction images. The filmmaker induced him to isolate. Simon begins to study intensely 10 months without shooting anything during 2005. The final product is a analysis of the Northamerican remake of foreign movies. Simon Bergman discovers the clues of international style.
In 2006 Simon shoots his first “wide audiencce and non extremely alternative movie” called Penguin Rebellion (2007), achieving great results with two prizes in Clermont Ferrand film festival (CVS and International Press Prize).
In 2007 he works with Raul Ruiz again as Assistant Director in his feature Recta Provincia, witch had it’s premiere in Rome film festival. At the end of 2007 Bergman shots his biggest short film ever, with a budget of 100.000 USD, called The Moebius Queue. A sarcastic social labyrinth of people waiting in a queue; shoot in a Monty Python atmosphere. This movie is now in postproduction. It will be completed in May 2008.
Actually Bergman is experimenting with new formats, shooting video clips and documentaries with low resolution cameras, to be putt on the web. Meanwhile he prepares his bigger projects to be released on theaters.
