Dear filmmakers,

Zurich Film Festival is now open for film submissions!

The 12th Zurich Film Festival will take place from September 22nd to October 2nd 2016 and is accepting film submissions until June 30th.
Zurich Film Festival offers its over 85’000 visitors insight into the work of exciting, upcoming directors in the international documentary and feature film competitions. Emerging directors have the opportunity to present their films in Zurich to the wide attention of the entire German- language market. Participants come from across the globe and include both rising and renowned filmmakers as well as buyers, sellers, distributors, media professionals and industry leaders.

The competition comprises of the following three categories:

• International Feature Film Competition
• International Documentary Film Competition
• Focus Switzerland, Germany, Austria (Feature Films and Documentary Films)

The Golden Eye endowed with a CHF 25,000 cash prize will be awarded in each of the two categories International Feature Film Competition and International Documentary Film Competition by two separate juries. The Golden Eye endowed with a CHF 20,000 cash prize will be awarded in the competition category Focus Switzerland, Germany, Austria by a separate jury. Winning films with Swiss distribution further profit from promotional and advertising contribution for a theatrical release in Switzerland.

Submissions to the competition must fulfil the following criteria:

• Director’s 1st, 2nd or 3rd feature-length film (60 minutes or longer)
• Production is not older than one year (completed within the last 12 months)
• Minimum status requirement: Premiere in the German-language realm (Switzerland, Germany and Austria) at Zurich Film Festival

Submission fee is 50 Euros until March 31st. After that it will be 75 Euro until June 30th.
