Letters to Daniel Baldock

Here's just a tiny wee staccato interview with...

Daniel Baldock, the Italian acting sensation who appeared in the blockbuster hit Letters to Juliet (2010) is about to take the acting world by storm and stars in the upcoming Italian production, Bloody Sin (2011).

ME: Can you talk about Letters to Juliet? What is your role and what would you like to say about the film? I cannot wait to see this film. Not only because it stars Vanessa Redgrave (of whom I was named after :-) but I love the theme of tying the story in with the presumed Shakespeare's 'Juliet' house in Verona.

DANIEL: I play Lorenzo Jr., son of Lorenzo Sr. (Franco Nero). Letters to Juliet is a feel good movie, a romantic love story that takes place in beautiful Italy.

ME:  Do you have any stories or anecdotes you might have about the process of making the film? I mean, what a cast! It must've been amazing to work with legendary actors like Gael Garcia Bernal and Vanessa Redgrave?!

DANIEL: The script was quite long and had a lot of beautiful scenes. Unfortunately, some of them were cut because of lack of time on location. The best moment I had filming was with Vanessa Redgrave and Franco on the terrace of our hotel in S. Quirico drinking Gin and Tonic. I was mesmerized by them and their stories.

ME: When did you get into acting? Did you always know you would be an actor?

DANIEL: I got into acting when I was 17 and yes I always wanted to be an actor. I started in Milan and I enrolled in a pantomime theater class. At 18 I had my first gig in the national TV. I was co-hosting a TV show but I knew that it wasn't for long. My passion it has always been the silver screen. At 21, I moved to London and at 25 to California to study at the Lee Strasberg and soon after at the TV Actor Studios.

ME: Can you talk about any of your recent films?

DANIEL: My Latest film is "Father", my first mafia movie, talks about the relationship between a father and a son in the world of mafia.

ME: What will you work on in the future?

DANIEL: Future projects are a TV series and I also just finished filming the first glam thriller "Bloody Sin"

ME: Awesome, Daniel. Thank you! Ci vediamo a Roma! :-)
