UFFO - Best Business Practices for Film Festivals

The Universal Film & Festival Organization was founded to support and implement best business practices for film festivals throughout the world.

UFFO,is a global voluntary organization and is not-for-profit. It was created to bring together the highest quality of Film Festivals and the filmmaking community by encouraging film festivals to become sound in best business practice. To date we have been very successful in this endeavour.

The UFFO best business practices is completely voluntary, it is free and easy to implement. In addition it is a blueprint for filmmakers in deciding which film festivals to do business with

UFFO is also an open international organization and membership is open to all creative individuals, filmmakers and film festivals.

user
The CICAE organisation has joint UFFO and pledged its support for the organisations code of conduct. This comes just weeks after the UFFO organisation announces that the legendary Hollywood actress Maureen O’ Hara took on the role as president. CIACE joining the UFO movement is a coup as it has opened up the UFFO organisation to thousands of potential new members all-over the world. UFFO now has just under 80 film festival members registered and supporting the ethical code of conduct...

Good Business Code of Practice for film festivals

user
We are asking film festivals and the filmmaking community to support and become a part of the Universal Film & Festival Organisation www.uffo.org. Given the amount of scam festivals operating all over the world a 10 Point Film Festival Code of practice was created with the collaboration of filmmakers and festival directors to establish to the filmmaking community that there are many film festivals that are fair and transparent. UFFO membership is free and is also open to all wi...

DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR FILM TO A FILM FESTIVAL BLINDLY, CHECK THEM OUT!

user
During the research phase for our expose documentary on scam festivals we have spoken to many filmmakers and festival directors from all over the world.   What we learnt is that there are so many scams out it can be difficult to distinguish between them. There is however one common dominator that enables the scam festival to operate with impunity, and that is that filmmakers do not look into a festival, they simply submit their film and they hope their talent is going to be recognised by a ...

New organisation www.uffo.org setup to promote the new ethical code of conduct for film festival

user
We have created a new international organisation for film festivals to adopt the film festival ethical code of conduct. The organisation will also be a window for filmmakers to view a list of legitimate festivals who have adopted the code of conduct. The ethical code of conduct was written with the participation of filmmakers and festivals directors from all over the world to help stop scam festivals. If a film festival has adopted the new ethical code of conduct through www.uffo.org (Un...

Would an association of film festivals by film festivals be in the interests of filmmakers?

user
Given the number of scam festivals happily scamming impressionable and aspiring filmmakers around the world is it now time for an association of film festivals. Although it would be a good idea there are a number of reasons why this may not be feasible.   In the United Kingdom there is a quaint little set of laws that allow the Police to investigate themselves in matters such as official complaints, this as we all well know is not right or can it be seen to be transparent or fair.   Alth...

Film Festival Scammers and a Code of Conduct for Film Festivals

user
Have you been scammed by a film festival, if so let us know We recently came across one festival organiser who runs 4 festivals, most of the awards go to their own films and the rest go in the trash. We are producing a filmmaking community expose documentary on scam film festivals. We are looking for shooters from all over the world to get involved Would you support a Code of Conduct for film festivals? More to the point would the festivals agree to a code of conduct? This...
