The lovers of Axos awarded at Thessaloniki Documentary Fest
The final ceremony concluded with a poignant screening of the documentary "as seen through these eyes", about drawings and paintings from children in the concentration camps. The folllowing prizes were delivered. Hellenic Red Cross Audience Award for a film over 45’ A Foreign production, accompanied by a cash prize of 4.000 € to the film As seen through these eyes, USA, by Hilary Helstein. Hellenic Red Cross Audience Award for a film under 45’ A Greek production accompanied by a cash prize of 2.000 €, to the film The Archelon Bubble by Eleftherios Fylaktos A foreign production accompanied by a cash prize of 2.000 €, to the film City of cranes, UK, by Eva Weber. THE FIPRESCI AWARDS This year’s The FIRPESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) Jury consisted of: The FIPRESCI Awards go to: MINISTRY OF MACEDONIA - THRACE AWARD The Ministry of Macedonia - Thrace Award, for a film in the Portraits – Human Journeys section goes to the film The Mirror and the Knife by Dimitris Vernikos. The award is accompanied by a cash prize of 6,000 €. GREEK FILM CENTER AWARDS The Greek Film Center, gives the following awards: - Award for a medium length documentary, accompanied by a cash prize of 2000 € goes to the film Etel Adnan Words in Exile, by Vouvoula Skoura.
