The 4th Crossroads Co-production Forum, organized by the 49th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF), started on Monday, November 17th, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

This year’s Industry Center is being hosted at the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography. Crossroad’s artistic director, Marie-Pierre Macia, French producer and former director of Cannes’ Directors’ Forthnight, welcomed the guests and said she is very pleased with the program’s progress, which is funded by the program MEDIA and has as a target to support productions related to the Balkan and the Mediterranean area. ‘This year we are screening Yesim Ustaoglou’s film ‘Pandora's Box’. The director, whose film won the Golden Shell Award for Best Film and the Award for Best Leading Actress in the Film Festival of San Sebastian, had also won the Crossroads Award two years ago’, pointed out Ms. Macia.

The 15 selected projects that compete for the Crossroads Nokia N series award, which is accompanied by a 10.000 euros prize, are productions or co- productions from the Balkan or the Mediterranean areas or include elements of these areas in their plot. The projects’ producers will have the chance to meet a network of important personalities of the film industry circuit. Distributors, sponsors, co-producers, television companies’ representatives and consultants will be present in order to discuss any matter concerning the promotion of their film.
