Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

I am gonna explode/Gerardo Naranjo

This is the story of Roman and Maru, two troubled teenagers who attempt an impossible rebellion against the adult world. United in their desire to fight the immobility that they feel surrounding them, the two embark on a rebellion against everything and everyone when they decide to runaway to a place where they don't have to answer to anyone. This leads them to an accidental new intimacy in which they discover their sexuality and an intense life as a couple that both unites themand confuses them. Despite the risk of getting caught by the police and their parents, the young fugitives jeopardize the security of their hiding place and seek to expand the limits of their newfound paradise by returning to the real world, where wounds are real and actions have consequences.

This movie takes part in the International Competition here in Thessaloniki.

Public reaction to the film has been enthusiastic. Q&A session pointed the ambition of Gerardo Naranja to show gaps in social classes and how his movie denounces violence as part a youth style of life in Mexico today. As Gerardo Naranja sais, it is common that collegian show up to school with guns even though they are not using it !

Photography is high standard quality and youngsters show us  very promessfull performances.
