Storytek_ Accelerator, founded in 2017 by private investors and Black Nights FF, has announced the participating companies in its second cohort.

Storytek will also host a presentation session on the acceleration, investment and development possibilities as well as the world renowned Estonian e-residency digital ecosystem during Marche Du Film's NEXT conference programme on the 9th of May from at the Palais along with the presentation of the best of Cohort One projects and companies.

Cohort 2 participants are:

Cinuru (Germany)

Cinuru Research collects and analyzes data from their cinema loyalty app Cinuru, enabling cinemas and distributors to understand, reach, and retain moviegoers. Independent cinemas are provided with a customer relationship management system. Distributors get a way to target audiences online by moviegoing behavior.

Cofounder (Estonia)

CoFounder is the only magazine for the European startup ecosystem. They serve their readers by introducing longform, analytic storytelling to the world of startup journalism. The fact that it’s a print magazine as well as the serious journalistic background of the founders and writers gives the magazine access to the world's top influencers in the startup space. At Storytek, CoFounder is looking at ways to take the magazine to the next level and make use of the content and data that has been generated so far.

Contextmedia (Estonia)

Contextmedia is a digitalized service platform for content customers. Contextmedia has an unique approach enabling cost effectivecontent production and well targeted message delivery in the same self-service online system. Contextmedia links multiple platforms connecting customers with freelance creative staff and compiles a distribution network delivering message to desired target audiences with maximum efficiency. Contextmedia app is a necessary tool for every content customer in need to be heard in diversified post-truth & alternative facts information environment.

Cosmos VR (Italy)

The aim of Cosmos VR is to bring the Overview Effect to the masses through Virtual Reality. The team has set out to recreate a model of the Earth that is 100% real and won’t feature any borders or names. Viewers will be transported into a master shot of the Earth without the possibility of moving or looking at their bodies. Specific sound design will prevent them from hearing anything apart from the cosmic void. Only silence.

Metatron (Estonia)

Metatron is developing an automated metadata generation platform to help film and video archives solve a metadata creation problem with flexible, high performance convolutional neural networks for image classification. Content-based video retrieval is getting more attention as the volume of digital video grows dramatically, thus creating a need for more comprehensive metadata and the currently used metadata schema in Film Heritage Institutions does not allow content-based search.

Zelos (Estonia)

Zelos offers gamified on-site management software for large temporary teams and event volunteers (festivals, public and sports events).
The helps to distribute tasks to people scattered around the location site and successfully delegate marketing and content sharing to a large group of followers.
It includes gamification strategies to motivate and reward teams and individuals and is easily scalable for all team sizes from 50 to 50 000.

About Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival

Started in 1997, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival has grown into one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe and busiest regional industry platforms, hosting more than 1000 guests and industry delegates and over 160 journalists. The festival screens around 250 features and more than 300 shorts and animations and sees an attendance of 80 000 people annually. In 2017 the festival was covered in 71 languages with a potential global media audience of over 1.1 billion people.

As of 2014 the festival holds the FIAPF accreditation for holding an international competition programme which puts the festival into the so- called A-category of film festivals, alongside other 14 festivals in the world (including Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, Karlovy Vary, San Sebastian, Shanghai, Tokyo etc).

Black Nights has an umbrella structure with two sub-festivals PÖFF Shorts and youth and children's film festival Just Film taking place concurrently with the main festival,
two off-season festivals - Haapsalu Horror and Fantasy Film Festival and Tartu Love Film Festival - and a fully-fledged film industry platform Industry@Tallinn, organised jointly with the Baltic Event Co-production market.

DATES IN NOVEMBER
Black Nights Film Festival 16 Nov - 2 Dec
PÖFF Shorts 20 Nov - 25 Nov
Just Film 16 Nov - 2 Dec
