RIFF, 09, 2023, 08: What you missed

Third day of Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) showcased a number of interesting films, and talk-shows on topics concerning cinema, at INOX, Crystal Palm, Jaipur.

The talk-show, Cinema and Society, was a discussion about the importance of cinema at social level, and the participating dignitaries stated their related thoughts. Participants included Ajit Rai, Buvana Ram, Charles Thomson, a senior official of the Rajasthan Police and Siraj Syed. Following this, the talk show, Promotion of Tourism Investment and Culture through Cinema had the guests discussing about cinema perspectives through investment and culture, and other important information related to national and international tourism.

Film-fare included Finding Vega, Fumes, The Fallen Are Connected, Devil Ullu- The Game of Devil, Happy New Year, Guilty, Love Me Stupid, Anivirkum Anadu (Love Knows no Boundaries), The Reprisal and Naanu Kusuma.

On the fourth day, there was a discussion on the mother tongue, Hindi, which is the most widely spoken language in India. Artistes and Directors share their thoughts.

“Hindi is our mother tongue; we should be proud, instead of being shameful” while we speak it, opined actor Anup Soni.

He also stated that, “OTT, being the new medium, contributed towards the reach of Indian actors and stories amongst the international audience.”

Create chances for the well-being of youth in small cities: Animesh Varma’s film Machhli delivered this deep message.

Another interesting quote from Anup Soni, “People forget, I am an actor, assuming that I am merely an anchor.”

Day 4 of RIFF saw a Workshop on 'How to Present Yourself - Nourish Your Anchoring Skills' during the Open Forum’, by Anup Soni. In the workshop, the actor shared his experiences with the audience. The enthusiasm of the audience and students was high. The audience was eager to meet Anup Soni, listen and learn something new. Anup Soni taught anchoring tricks to the audience and students in the workshop and gave them career guidance. “It is important to choose your part in both reel and real life.”

Regarding anchoring skills, Anup Soni said, 'There is no special formula for anchoring. When I learned acting in the National School of Drama for three years, I sometimes thought, ‘what was I doing there’? But as I progressed in the industry, I realised its importance. I would like to say, first of all, you should choose what attracts you.”
