The San Sebastian Festival extends the film submission deadline until June 30Given the extraordinary circumstances caused by the COVID-19 health crisis, the San Sebastian Festival has decided to extend the online submission period for the pre-selection of films for its 68th edition by two weeks. This means that films proposed for participation in any of the sections making up its programme can be submitted until June 30. The calls for submissions of films for Culinary Zinema (June 15), WIP Latam, WIP Europa and Nest (all three on June 1) maintain their initial dates. Like last year, during the submission process information will be requested on the gender identity of the people holding different positions in the film. The Festival therefore fulfils one of the commitments acquired in 2018 on signing the Charter for Parity and Inclusion of Women in Cinema, specifically that of compiling statistics broken down by gender, both referring to the number of films received for selection, and to those selected and programmed. This gives us true and reliable data on the presence of projects involving the participation of women. The deadline for submitting feature films for pre-selection will therefore be June 30, 2020. All information on the general rules of participation, the terms and conditions of the different sections and the online form can be found on the Festival website: To access the Terms and Conditions and submit a film, click here
