POSTERS The star of the poster for the 59th edition is a suitcase, an invitation to embark on the journey represented by a film festival The new image for the 59th edition of San Sebastian Festival was presented at an event in San Sebastian's Kutxaespacio Science Museum. At this meeting, we announced the winner of the poster competition launched for the first time this year for the Official, Zabaltegi and Horizontes Latinos sections. Open to graphic designers across the world, the competition generated 60 different proposals. The winning project comes from the company BI TANTA and is created by Yoana Figueras. The star of the poster for this edition is a suitcase. An invitation to embark on the journey represented by a film festival, gathering point for members of the public and professionals the world over, and starting point for the imaginary voyages and worlds brought to us by each of the participating films. The Zabaltegi poster offers a profile out of context, yet recognisable, over which slide the letters making up the name of the section, suggesting new ways of observing a same place. And the Horizontes Latinos poster brings us a deep look plunging us into a world of warm colours, lights and shadows produced by an intense dawn on a face brimming with contrasts. Completing this year's posters are those presented for the three retrospective cycles, created by Roberto Cueto and Eurosíntesis. Fargo, Oxhide II and Les parapluies de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg), are the titles lending their base to the images of American Way of Death: American film noir 1990-2010, Digital shadows: Last generation Chinese film and Jacques Demy, respectively. 17.05.2011 | SanSebastian's blog Cat. : CDATA Cinema of France Design Film Horizontes Latinos Jacques Demy Jacques Demy Official Oxhide Person Career Poster Roberto Cueto San Sebastián International Film Festival San Sebastian's Kutxaespacio Science Museum The star The Umbrellas of Cherbourg Zabaltegi FESTIVALS
