Red Sea International Film Festival


The second edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival (RedSeaIFF) will run in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from December 1-10, 2022.
The inaugural Red Sea International Film Festival took place from December 6 -15, 2021 with live dailies on filmfestivals.com.

The Red Sea International Film Festival brings the best in Arab and World Cinema to Jeddah Old Town. The Festival showcases exciting new films on the Saudi big-screen, alongside retrospective programs celebrating the masters of cinema, the latest Saudi films, and feature and short film competitions. There are also industry events and workshops nurturing the next generation of talent.

In ‘Celebration of Women in Cinema’, the Red Sea International Film Festival (RedSeaIFF), hosted a gala event this evening at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival on the grounds of the magnificent Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes.

THE RED SEA LABS OPENS SUBMISSION TO THE 4th EDITION OF THE LODGE

After three successful editions, Red Sea Lodge returns as part of the Red Sea LABS in 2023. The Red Sea LABS is a platform for filmmakers, writers and industry professionals, offering various programs to help them realize their vision and projects from inception to production. The Lodge, an integral part of the Red Sea LABS, is a 10-months residency intensive creative and professional program in partnership with the TorinoFilmLab and sponsored by Film Al-ula for emerging filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, and Africa. Starting today, The Red Sea LABS opens its doors to feature film project submissions to The Lodge’s 4th edition.

 

The selected projects get access to a network of creative and professional mentors and opportunities in the film industry at large. The winners will be announced at the Red Sea Souk during the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival and will share USD 200,000 in award money based on merit. Though aimed at first or second-time feature film directors, the program will also consider applications from more established voices with daring new concepts and approaches.

 

Red Sea Lodge urges all Saudi/Saudi Residents, Arab, and African filmmakers and producers to apply for the program and hone their ambitions to produce top-notch cinematic masterpieces. The deadline for the submission of applications is January 21, 2023.

Red Sea International Film Festival provides a platform for Arab filmmakers and industry professionals from around the world to connect, host feature and short film competitions, and present a series of events, masterclasses, and workshops to support emerging talent. Running alongside the Festival is the Red Sea Souk, the Festival’s industry market, designed for global exchange and partnerships between the international and Saudi film industries. The four-day market will offer a packed program of curated events to foster co-production, international distribution, and new business opportunities. The Souk offers unbeatable access to the new vibrant Saudi scene, as well as the best of the Arab market through pitching sessions, one-on-one meetings, screenings, industry talks, and networking events.
