The Melbourne Documentary Film Festival is currently rated as the Documentary Film Festival of the Year (2018) by FilmDaily. 

Our mission is to discover and promote independent Australian documentaries, and to showcase the best international documentaries to Melbourne audiences. The Melbourne Documentary Film Festival provides a public forum and supportive platform to allow emerging filmmakers to showcase their work.

The Garden State Film Festival 
March 28-31, 2019

Asbury Park, NJ. Film, Screenplay and Movie Music competitions opened July 1, 2018.   

The Garden State Film Festival was founded to promote the art of film making on all levels by showcasing a wide variety of film, video and animated works, as well as to provide educational programs in the creative arts to the public by industry leaders. Our goal is to present films of the highest quality in both production value and content.

The Garden State Film Festival's professional jury will select winning films in various categories. Submission categories are for administration purposes only. There are separate awards for student films (please state on notes which kind of student you are if it applies - Graduate, College, High School or younger) as well as the "Home Grown Awards" for films where 75% of principle photography is shot in the State of New Jersey.

Julien Dubuque International Film Festival

Known for it's quaint location, friendly staff/volunteers, inquisitive audience, consistent communication, multiple screening opportunities, workshops, panels and other amazing networking opportunities and parties; it's no wonder JDIFF was voted one of the coolest film festivals and one of the top 50 worth the submission fee by MovieMaker Magazine (2016 & 2017). JDIFF also ranks as one of the top 100 reviewed festivals by FilmFreeway. JDIFF is ALL about the independent filmmaker!

Dubuque, Iowa is a quaint city on the Mississippi and a perfect place to host the festival. As quoted in Filmmaker Magazine "The festival is smartly situated downtown, with an assortment of handsome venues all within walking distance" from the Festival Headquarters, located in the grand HOTEL JULIEN, the same hotel where Al Capone used to hide out from the Chicago Feds.

Our final nominees are judged by our Jury members of Film professionals, such as Directors, Producers, Critics, Director of Photography, etc and choose the final winner of each category.

New York Festivals Television & Films Awards

Deadline for entries is October 15, 2018

New York Festivals World's Best TV & Films competition honors programming in all lengths and forms from over 50 countries. New Categories for 2019 include Human Rights Documentary, Digital Short-Form Music Video, Telenovela Promotion, Brand Image, CSR Not-for-Profit, Branded Content, Attitudinal Training, Branded Content Documentary, Student Documentary, Public Relations & Social Engagement. 

All Entries in the 2019 competition will be judged online and screened by New York Festivals Television & Film Awards Grand Jury of 200 plus producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals from around the globe. Nominated Finalists are judged by a selected panel at the United Nations for the UNDPI Awards. The NYC Independent Film Festival 

May 5 – 12, 2019

The 10th Annual NYC Independent Film Festival provides a showcase for indie filmmakers from NYC and around the world to the NYC public & entertainment industry. Indie filmmakers self­fund projects with budgets from $0 - ­$1,000,000 and often overlooked, these filmmakers show extraordinary talent and creativity under tight budgets. The Festival provides filmmakers with the opportunity for potential distribution while meeting fans and promoting their film. 

The Festival is an annual event and will run May 5 - 12, 2019, taking place at Producers Club, The Caveat and Cameo Clnton Studios. We will screen 250 films, host panels and presentations, as well as after parties, a live script reading, and a live comedy sketch performance! All while hosting hundreds of filmamakers from around the world!
 
2019 submission categories include: Narrative Feature, Short Film (narrative), Super Short Film (narrative), Documentary Fearure, Documentary Short, Music Video, Art/Experimental (short film), Animation (short film), Short Script, Short Sketch Comedy Videos, Virtual Reality, Web Series, TV Pilots.

The Chandler International Film Festival (CIFF) is a year-round film festival with grand annual event @ Chandler Downtown on January 18 -21, 2019. CIFF will be screening over 100 films from all over the world. The three-day festival will include Red Carpet, Opening Ceremony, Prime Shows with Dinner, Audience Choice Awards, Award Ceremony, Networking, Workshops, Q&A and After Party.

Fantasporto’2019 Oporto International Film Festival

ENTRY DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1st 2018 

This Call is for Fantasy, Horror, Sci-Fi features and shorts only of Fantasy gendre. The Director’s Week section is destinaded only for, no strings attach.

 

Deadlines for Entries for 2019 edition are November 1st (feature and fantasy shorts) and December 5th (Final Call and only for features). Fantasporto enjoys incredible loyalty and support from the large film-appreciating community all over the World. In the last edition, Fantasporto was attended by over 25,000 enthusiastic genre film fans and over 200 members of the film press and industry.

Considered in 2015 as the first of the independent film festivals in the world by TRIPPER, Fantasporto is among the top film festivals  for the discovery of new talent, having revealed countless of now famous directors, producers and actors.

The World Heritage City by UNESCO of Porto, twice considered Europe’s Best Touristic Destination,  is another factor adding interest . Founded in 1981, the 39th edition has the support of the Portuguese State and the Townhall.
