Program for the 67° Festival del film Locarno announced
The official program for the 67° Festival del film Locarno has been announced. The awards to Juliette Binoche (Excellence Award Moët & Chandon), Armin Mueller-Stahl (Lifetime Achievement Award - Parmigiani) and Mia Farrow (Leopard Club Award) were also announced today. Those attending Locarno will include Dario Argento, Olivier Assayas, Luc Besson, Garrett Brown, Suzanne Clément, Pedro Costa, Julie Depardieu, Lav Diaz, Víctor Erice, Florian David Fitz, Hippolyte Girardot, Melanie Griffith, HPG, Fernand Melgar, Rita Pavone, Alex Ross Perry, Matías Piñeiro, Jonathan Price, Martín Rejtman, Eran Riklis, Jason Schwartzmann, Nansun Shi, Aleksandr Sokurov, Andrea Štaka, Agnès Varda, Paul Vecchiali. The program, with the selection of films, guests and events can be consulted on the website Pardo Live, under the following rubrics: Piazza Grande: the 16 films screening on the Piazza Grande, the open-air cinema that can host up to 8,000 viewers every night. Concorso internazionale: 17 feature films, 13 of them as world premieres, competing for the Pardo d'oro. Concorso Cineasti del presente: the competition dedicated to new discoveries, consists of 15 first or second films. Signs of Life: this new section explores cinema at the frontiers, with new narrative forms and formal innovations. Pardi di domani: the competitions for short films. Histoire(s) du cinéma: film history presented by its protagonists. Premi speciali: the Festival di Locarno's awards to world famous artistes. Titanus. Cronaca familiare del cinema italiano: the retrospective dedicated to the major Italian production studio Titanus Open Doors: a look at English and Portuguese speaking cinema from Sub-Saharan Africa.
