Bridging the Dragon (bridging the European and Chinese film industries)

Bridging the Dragon (August 4 – 10, Hotel Monteverità)

The process of bridging the European and Chinese film industries is related to the need to find content that can be appealing to both audiences, and which can overcome the differences in terms of culture, language and market. With this in mind, Bridging the Dragon is organising the first Sino-European content lab programme, taking place in Songjiang/Shanghai and Locarno.
The labs gather 10 teams (director/producer) with one project each suitable for co-production or co-financing: five from Europe and five from China. Scriptwriting and producing/financing tutors will work intensively for three days in early August in Locarno with the 20 participants on story structure, the feasibility of the co-production and the most adequate financing plan. Following this 3-day programme, the producers of the 10 selected projects are invited to participate in the Locarno Industry Days (August 8-10) to meet European and international decision-makers and pitch their projects in individual meetings. The labs are hosted and supported by Festival del film Locarno and D’Hive, media hub in the district of Songjiang, in collaboration with TorinoFilmLab.
