Double Feature - Living- IkiruWhat happens when Oliver Hermanus teams up with Nobel prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro and actor Bill Nighy to reimagine Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece Ikiru (itself based on Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich) for a new generation? What happens is a gem of a film called Living, a period drama now set in 1950s London, with all the life-affirming compassion of the original. You can watch both films in our program. 06.10.2022 | Haifa International Film Festival's blog Cat. :
