The Awards of the 9th Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival

On Saturday, the 20th of July, the 9th edition of Grossmann Festival came to a magnificent conclusion.

At the Closing Ceremony, we paid homage to recently departed director, scriptwriter, film expert and a dear friend and supporter of the festival, Dinko Tucaković, whose final feature film Doctor Ray and the Devils was successfully premiered at the 2012 Grossmann Festival.

 

The following awards were given:

 

Honorary Vicious Cat, received by Franco Nero and Enzo G. Castellari, to celebrate their overwhelming contribution to the art of cinema.

Vicious Cat award for best Best Feature Film was unanimously given to Vanishing Waves (Lithuania, France, Belgium; 2012; directed by Kristina Buožyte) by the jury consisting of Goran Marković, Phillip Bergson and Romain Roll. The award was received by lead actress Jurga Jutaite.
Special Mention: May I Kill U? (UK, 2013, directed by Stuart Urban) - for the screenplay

Slak's Vicious Cat, Best Short film Award, went to Antoine And The Heroes (France, 2012, directed by Patrick Bagot). The jury consisted of Milan Todorović, Julian Richards and Velimir Grgić.

Melies d'Argent, the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation award, was given to short film The Tale of the Wall Habitants (Serbia, 2012, directed by Andrej Boka). The jury was comprised of Milan Todorović, Julian Richards, Velimir Grgić.

Noisy Cat for the Best Music Documentary went to How We Entered Europe: SexA Case (Croatia, 2012, directed by Ines Pletikos). The jury consisted of Igor Vidmar, Jure Longyka and Matjaž Manček.

Vicious Cat Wine Champion, Award for Best Wine as chosen by our film guests, went to Yellow Muscat Illuminati 2012 by Tourist Farm Hlebec from Slovenia.

The 10th Grossmann will be in balmy mid-July 2014 and you are welcome to join the celebration.
