Teen Idol Davy Jones In Town for SEXSINA POPSTAR P.I.

Davy Jones of The MonkeesDavy Jones of The Monkees

Monday, November 5--------In what has to be one of the more unusual entries in the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, the campy SEXINA POPSTAR P.I. will have its world premiere at the Festival tomorrow night. The music industry-cum-private-eye satire, directed by award-winning cinematographer Eric Sharkey, stars Lauren D'Avella as a Britney Spears-like musical superstar who fights crime in her off hours. Not only will the director and his fab star be making the South Florida scene at the Festival, but, hold on to your hats girls, former Monkees teen idol Davy Jones will also walk the Red Carpet. Jones sings the film's catchy theme song. Expect lots of screaming from fans, old and young alike, for the live appearance of a 60s music legend.

In this madcap musical romp, superstar Sexina's talents aren't restricted to topping pop charts, filling arenas and ruling music television. The pop sensation secretly moonlights as a Private Investigator, resolute in fighting corruption. When the leading scientific mind in humanoid robotics (and a former child pop star) is kidnapped, Sexina is hired to get him back. The investigation leads her to the mega-hit record label Glitz Records and its mysterious owner, known only as "the Boss", played by television's Batman himself, Adam West (zap!! boom!!). As Sexina grow closer to the truth, the reigning queen of pop must contend with assassins, ninjas, dangerous thugs, mysterious informants, a wild grizzly bear, and of course, take some time out for a little clothes shopping. Music, intrigue, and shopping? Count me in. This is one trailer you've just gotta see to believe: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jgke_1c4zJA
