VENTURA announces the winners of its second editionAlexander David's project A Mão is the winner of the €10,000 Ventura Prize
Filmmakers Athina Rachel Tsangari, Valérie Massadian, Óscar Vincentelli and Eloy Enciso won the distribution and service awards offered by the partners and collaborators of VENTURA, the new training, development and co-production platform based in Tui, Galicia The jury, which was made up of the Portuguese filmmaker João Pedro Rodrigues, the Spanish director and producer Lluís Miñarro and the Belgian programmer Juliette Duret, highlighted the extraordinary quality of the selection and awarded the following prizes:
The VENTURA Award, consisting of €10,000, went to A Mão, directed by Alexander David and produced by André Gil Mata (Portugal).
The Cinemar Films Award, which includes one week of 5.1 sound mixing services, went to Todo es cárcel, directed by Eloy Enciso and produced by Marina Perales and Fran Ruvira (Spain).
The VFX-Cormorán Award, consisting of twenty hours of visual effects work, went to Se van sus naves, directed by Óscar Vincentelli and produced by Elisa Celda (Spain).
The NUMAX Award, which consists of the creation of a DCP according to the DCI standard, went to Anoush et les Vagabonds, directed by Valérie Massadian and produced by Sophie Erbs (France).
The distribution awards, presented by the heads of the companies Atalante (for the Spanish territory) and Filmgarten (for the Austrian territory), went in both cases to Three Serious Ladies, directed and produced by Athina Rachel Tsangari (Greece).
