VENTURA announces the experts participating in its professional training programme

A group of leading international film experts and professionals will participate in the first stage of VENTURA, consisting of a professional training programme aimed at the producers representing the five Spanish projects, selected from among the more than 200 applications received. This series of training sessions, which will take place from 11th to 15th December, aims to provide and enrich knowledge on financing, co-production, distribution, marketing, sustainability, audience design and other areas of interest.

The prestigious panel will be composed of Asia Jarzyna, expert in sustainable production methods (The Lord of the Rings); Argentine producer Benjamín Domenech (Zama); director of Memento International agency, Emilie Georges (The Class); Talent Manager of IFFR Pro, Facundo Lema; Industry Advisor Hayet Benkara; the Director and Head of Studies of the ACE Producers platform, Jacobine van der Vloed; the coordinator of Cinemart, Lara González Lobo; the producer of El Pampero Cine, Laura Citarella (Trenque Lauquen); the Head of Acquisitions and Development of New Europe Film Sales, Marcin Luczaj; the director of Locarno Pro, Markus Duffner, and the director of EURODOC, the training laboratory for documentary filmmakers, Nora Philippe.

 

The selected Spanish projects

 

The five Spanish projects selected for this second edition of VENTURA are: Ari, by director Maider Oleaga; La mala gent, directed by Amat Vallmajor and produced by Julieta Juncadella and Silvia Cruz; Querer vivir un grito, directed by Diana Toucedo and produced by Alba Sotorra and Andrea Vázquez; Se van sus naves, directed by Óscar Vincentelli and produced by Elisa Celda, and Todo es cárcel, directed by Eloy Enciso and produced by Marina Perales and Fran Ruvira.

 

After the first stage of professional training with the announced experts, the filmmakers representing these projects will take part in a five-day intensive writing residency led by the prestigious Argentine filmmaker, screenwriter and teacher Mariano Llinás (La flor), which will take place from 15th to 19th January 2024, at Finca Remesal, an ideal space for the development of creative work.

The registration deadline for international projects interested in participating in the training, development and co-production platform has been extended until December 3rd

 

The registration deadline for international projects has been extended until December 3rd. Selected projects will participate alongside Spanish projects in the third and final stage of VENTURA, consisting of an international co-production forum, which will take place from 20th to 21st January 2024. During this stage, a series of meetings will take place with another select group of professionals from the international film industry, including producers, distributors, sales agents and members of film commissions, as well as representatives of funds, markets and festivals, among others.

 

Both Spanish and international projects will present their respective projects to a prestigious international jury and will be eligible for a prize of €10,000. VENTURA will also offer service prizes valued at €50,000 in the areas of sound, visual effects, DCP + deliveries, and national and international distribution.
