The Tryon International Film Festival (TRIFF) is kicking off its 9th Annual Event with more than 50 film screenings and 30 educational opportunities available for aspiring artists and film enthusiasts in Tryon, NC.

Local and visiting filmmakers from across the country and globe will share their expertise for three full days in a series of workshops, panels, and discussion groups covering a variety of film industry roles at TRIFF23’s education hub, Tryon Fine Arts Center.

On October 6, TRIFF23 will offer its first Media Arts Education & Career Day with offerings for 3rd graders to college students and adults will be offered partially supported by grants from the Carolina Foothills Foundation and The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. On October 7 and 8 the Education Institute will offer 30 workshops, panels and discussion groups covering writing, acting, directing, producing, independent filmmaking, marketing, animation, editing and visual effects, documentary filmmaking, and more.

Passes for opening events including a red carpet Gala and opening film, The Man Who Saved the Game, education offerings, day and weekend passes as well as virtual passes to access festival films after the event are available at tryoninternationalfilmfestival.org

PCFI was founded in 2013, offering a one-year film-making course, the Next Generation Film Project, for youth ages nine to 16 years. In 2022 a total of 58 countries were represented by the 388 films selected and screened during TRIFF, including two World Premieres.
