TromaDance Film Festival to celebrate 10th event n Park City

The TromaDance Film Festival announces the schedule of events for the tenth anniversary of the legendary independent film festival.

In celebration of the TromaDance’s tenth year, the fest's Park City screenings will be held at their most exciting venue yet to date, THE SIDECAR, at 333 Main St, (across from the Egyptian Theatre) on Friday, January 23rd, from 11AM-5PM.

Following the screenings will be the highly acclaimed Annual Panel Discussion, at 5:30PM, featuring filmmakers, special guests and industry professionals. Previous panelists have included Karen Black (Nashville, Five Easy Pieces), M Dot Strange (We Are The Strange), Stephen Paul (Ghost Rider, Doomsday), Jean Prewitt (President/CEO, Independent Film and Television Alliance) and many more.

The evening will conclude with the infamous TromaDance closing night party featuring unparalleled entertainment with live music and performers starting at 9PM – notoriously popular, come early!

The official start date for TromaDance will begin at 6:30PM on Tuesday, January 20th at the world famous Brewvies Cinema Pub (677 South 200 West #D, Salt Lake City, UT 84101). The festival will feature short and full length films selected for their unique and truly independent spirit and content. Additional screenings of officially selected TromaDance films will take place at the Salt Lake City Library (210 East 400 South Salt Lake City, UT‎) with screening dates and times being posted on the TromaDance website (www.tromadance.com).

Critically acclaimed independent director/auteur Lloyd Kaufman’s new book, Direct Your Own Damn Movie! from renowned publishing house Focal Press will be released concurrently with the TromaDance Film Festival. A meet and greet book signing will be held at Dolly’s Bookstore (510 Main St. Park City, UT 84060) on Wednesday, January 21st from 3PM-5PM.

Inspired by Trey Parker and founded in 2000 by Lloyd Kaufman, TromaDance is the first film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans. Unlike every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers a fee to submit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and open to the public. There are no VIP reservations and no preferential treatment of any kind is given regarding admission to films, panels, or parties. The organizers of TromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to new filmmakers. Art…in all its forms… is for the people!

Now in its 10th year, TromaDance has expanded across the country. TromaDance Indiana, in conjunction with the B-Movie Celebration, is now in its 2nd year while TromaDance New Mexico will hold its fifth festival in 2009.
