This year’s jury at the Stockholm film festival

The Stockholm International Film Festival now reveals the names of the five people who will decide which film will be presented with the honorable Bronze Horse. This year’s jury consists of representatives from the world of film, television and theatre, and is chaired by American director Tom Kalin.
The festival jury presents the festival’s honorary award, the 16 lb Bronze Horse, to a film in the Stockholm XVIII Competition. The jury also presents Aluminum Horses for best directorial debut, best screenplay, best short film, best actor/actress, best cinematography and the newly-launched Best Music Award to films in competition. The jury of 2007 consists of:

Tom Kalin (chair) – American director. His latest film Savage Grace (starring Julianne Moore) is screened out of competition in this year’s festival. Swoon won the honorary award of the FIPRESCI jury at the Stockholm film festival 1992.

Tova Magnusson Norling – actress/director. Had her feature debut as a director with Miss Sweden (2004). This year she is stars as the countess in Figaro’s Wedding at Stadsteatern in Stockholm. She has also directed the tv-hit Gynekologen i Askim.

Mikael Marcimain – Director. Marcimain is behind Swedish television productions like The Grave (2004), Lasermannen (2005) and the widely-praised Upp till kamp (2007).

Lia Boysen – Actress who had her big breakthrough in Lukas Moodysson’s and Peter Birro’s The New Country (2000). Has since starred in De Drabbade (2003), Sandor Slash Ida (2005) and When Darkness Falls (2006).

Mikael Flodell – C.E.O. of production company Flodellfilm. Has his roots in commercial production, but also produced shorts and features like Passing Hearts (2004), When Elvis Came to Visit (2006), and award-winning Suddenly (2006).
