The World is Yours Premieres at NYIIFVF

Harried New Yorkers can get some much-needed calm energy by watching an uplifting new short film titled, "The World is Yours." The film is the directorial debut for Kathleen Ammalee Rogers, author, personal growth expert, therapeutic coach and artist. "The World is Yours" has been selected to screen as part of the prestigious New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) on the opening weekend at 4pm and 8pm on March 2nd at the ImaginAsian Theater in Manhattan. Rogers has already earned a nomination by the NYIIFVF Jury for Best Directorial Debut in a Short Film.

Written, produced and narrated by Rogers and co-directed by Rogers and Judith Shannon Grady, “The World is Yours” is a soothing, audio/visual affirmation of life that focuses on empowering individuals to cherish themselves and to act courageously to create happier lives and a better world. The film includes stunning archival space footage of the earth from a NASA spacecraft, edited by Alan Health as well as a complementary classical score that enhances the film's positive message.

Fittingly, the catalyst for the short film stemmed from Rogers innate desire to heal others and to find an artistic yet effective way of translating her expertise in Mind-Body-Energy therapy and personal development. In a recent interview for IFQ Magazine Rogers commented, "My first inspiration for making this film was my twelve year old son. As I contemplated the amount of negativity so many kids and adults are facing in the world these days, I felt compelled to help them to find the positive spark within in order to create happier futures for themselves and for the world. Each day, so many people are faced with the pressures of high performance and fast paced living along side continuous negative news from around the world. People are literally becoming sick from worry and stress. The rise in chronic diseases and depression are evidence of that! And, yet, I have seen what happens to people's lives when they begin living with positive intention. Everyone of us came into this world as a unique positive spark of life. And, no matter how old we become, that spark is always there waiting to be re-ignited within each one of us. And when it is ignited, amazing things happen---people heal and lives heal in miraculous ways. This film is calling people to remember that very powerful place within themselves. When they do, their lives will change---maybe the world will change."

According to NYIIFVF's Founder/Executive Producer Stuart Alson, "I am very impressed with first-time helmer Kathleen Rogers. She is determined, creative and very dedicated to healing others and is a highly respected health care professional in matters pertaining to emotional and physical wellness. The World is Yours is original and very well directed. I was also amazed at the breathtaking NASA footage; viewers will enjoy this journey and go away feeling soothed and hopefully transformed. Alson went on to say, “Rogers is strongly imbued with a wonderful healing ability and a beautiful speaking voice, which really adds to the sincerity of the film.”
