Krzysztof Kieslowski Award for Best Feature Film

The award is presented to a feature-length film that reflects the artistic sensibilities of the late Polish director. This year's jury includes Lisa Dreyer, from Alamo Drafthouse's Fantastic Fest; chief critic Richard Lawson from Vanity Fair; and Deadline's Valerie Complex.

Maysles Brothers Award for Best Documentary

The award is presented to a filmmaker who best represents the truth and purity of documentary filmmaking as established by the Maysles Brothers, and the jury includes Brooke Marine, deputy editor for the Cut at New York Magazine; Daniel Daddario, chief correspondent at Variety; and Emmy Award winner Larry Wilmore.

American Independent Competition 

This award is presented annually to a domestic narrative feature that boldly steps outside of the studio system to offer unique stories in an unconstrained spirit. This year's jury includes Maxwell Whittington Cooper, acclaimed actor; Tawny Cypress, prolific actor starring in the Emmy-nominated show Yellowjackets; and Bronte Payne, producer and Vice President of Film at LuckyChap

Grand Jury Prize for Best Shorts, Best Student Domestic Short and Best International Short



The shorts lineup includes a wide range of offerings from across the globe. The shorts jury will screen and award a Grand Jury Prize for Best Short, as well as for Best Student Domestic Short and Best International Short.

This year's jury includes award-winner make-up department head and designer Donald Mowat (Dune, The Fighter, 8 Mile, Blade Runner 2049); Emmy-award winning journalist Lawrence Yee, deputy editor at TheWrap; and Los Angeles Times reporter Sonaiya Kelley.

 

 


Every ticket holder for this year's festival will receive an invitation to cast their vote, and we will announce the winners of the Audience Awards two days after the festival is over!
