The Broadway revival of "HAIR

The Broadway revival of "HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical," presented by The Public Theater, directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Karole Armitage, opens at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, New York, Tuesday, March 31, 8:00 pm.

"HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical," is powerful, electrifying, with one emotional crescendo after another, includes interactive audience participation. The historical musical captures a tumultuous time during 1960-1970 when teenagers known as the Hippies/Yippies were searching for love and peace (an offshoot of the gay culture in New York and San Francisco). The tribal cast of 25 in suspended animation by mind-altering drugs and spiritual style evolves around high school student Berger (Will Swenson) who receives school suspension
for wearing his hair long and Claude (Gavin Creel) who receives his draft
papers for military duty in the Vietnam War. Claude is hung up on Shiela
(Caissie Levy), Sheila is hung up on Berger, Jeannie (Kacie Sheik) is hung up
on Claude and Berger is hung up on himself. The outstanding choreography and musical score with mild nudity includes (Aquarius, Hair, Easy To Be Hard, Where do I Go, Good Morning Starshine, Let The Sunshine In) and many others. HAIR is a Masterpiece!
