Talk on short at the SKYY View Lounge

Eyes on SKYY Explores Short Film and Announces Short Film Project Finalists

Short Film Explosion: Experts Tell How, Why and What's the Future of Short Film.
The panel takes place today,Noon 2 pm, Monday, January 15, 2004 and will feature keynotes from today¹s leaders in the short film industry including:
* Bobby Bauer, president, Uncle
* Dana Brunetti, President, Triggerstreet.com
* Megan O¹Neill, director of acquisitions, Atom Films
* John Halecky, senior shorts film programmer, iFilm
* John Manulis, founder, Visionbox
* Genevieve Turner of Showtime's "The L Word"
* Jason Wishnow, moderator and short film director

The short film industry has exploded in the last six months with advertisers, celebrities and filmmakers churning out groundbreaking short films. With the distribution model changing as networks, broadband companies and film festivals focus on short film, SKYY¹s first Eyes on SKYY will look toward the future. Innovating in the short film format since 1992, SKYY Spirits, LLC has a long and proud history of supporting filmmakers who specialize in short films. The SKYY Vodka Short Film Project, designed to identify up and coming young directors, was launched at Sundance in 2003. Of the hundreds of short filmmakers who submitted pitches, SKYY will recognize the three finalists who will shoot a short in 72 hours this spring in New York.
