SUPER SIZE ME Gets Super Size Oscar Party

SUPER SIZE ME the hit documentary by Morgan Spurlock is on it’s way to the Academy Awards with a Happy Meal Buzz. The box office delight from talented debut filmmaker Spurlock is nominated for Best Feature Documentary. This film captured the “Fast Food Generation” as Spurlock took his work on a serious path of self-destruction as a filmmaker. His goal was to eat only from the fast food chain food for a month. As a celebration to this highly regarded nomination a party will take place on Oscar Night.

The film first came to the attention to the masses at the Sundance Film Festival and was soon picked up for distribution by IFC. SUPER SIZE ME soon played at major film festivals across the country and then to wide release in theaters across the country. Following the swell of grass roots popularity the media, Macdonald’s and the general pubic knew of the amazing documentary and it surprising take on fast food in America. Macdonald’s had their legal teams working over time to put a stop to the distribution of the film and its catchy title, but to no avail.

How Morgan chose to make this popular film was with a scientific responsible approach. He is a 33 year-old New Yorker in seemly excellent health and his plan was to eat nothing but McDonald's for an entire month and to document the effects on his body.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner would be eaten at McDonald's and whenever they asked him to supersize, he would have to accept.

The film is entertaining and horrifying, as the realizations of the fast food culture we live in and the wide spread-growing rate of obesity in America. Spurlock did this with well thought out responsibility, but the reality set in to the shock of himself and all of us whose driven through the “Golden Arches”. Morgan consulted three doctors, a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist, and a general practitioner, all of whom said this experiment obviously wouldn't be good for him, but that the damages would be minimal.

What happens with this first charming and innocent lark soon turns into a shocking factual crisis. Morgan gained close to 30 pounds, saw his cholesterol skyrocket, and experienced frequent nausea, chest pains, mood swings and sadly a loss of sex drive. During the month he also traveled around the country, interviewing people on McDonalds and fast food. There was a "Big Mac enthusiast" who has eaten over 19,000 Big Macs and still counting. The revelations of this documentary have had a cultural implication of our times and the awareness of popularity of Fast foods. As a group of 1st-graders are quizzed and more of them can identify Ronald McDonald as compared to Jesus or George Washington.

Spurlock is a likable sort whose innocent approach is appealing, so it understandable so many are routing for SUPER SIZE ME to bring home the Oscar. Film Threat Magazine will be hosting the party for this 2005 Oscar Nominated Film with many super surprises in store for the invited guest. The gift bags to be given to partygoers may not be as pricey as the Academy Presenter Gift Bags, but to date the sponsors are coming on abroad to be part of the exclusive event. A perfect party gift for one lucky attendee will be a brand new Ford F150 Super Sized Truck. Talk about a Happy Meal!
Some of the other gifts in store are:

Phillips - 10 plasma screen TV's
Bally's Fitness - 300 1 year memberships and one treadmill
Independence Air - 300 round trip travel vouchers for anywhere they fly
Edy's/Dreyers - 1 year supply of ice cream for each gift bag
Stila Cosmetics
Newcastle
Penta Water
Alacer Emergen C

The Academy Awards will take place Sunday, February 27, 2005 with most of the guest at the SUPER SIZE ME event hoping for a drive through win for Morgan and his documentary. The celebration will take place at CINESPACE close by the Kodak Theater so the Oscar won’t have too far to go if Morgan is voted the winner from the Academy. Top notch PR firm Dominon3 is working to coordinate the Oscar event and hopes that it will be a party of Super Size proportions.
