SFiFF Goes International

   Logo

The lowercase “i” in SFiFF will now represent “International.” For the past 14 years, the letter “i” In the festival's iconic logo has meant "Independent." Now entering its 14th season this fall and 15th season next fall, the name of the festival will change to the Santa Fe International Film Festival, as part of a rebranding in preparation for the festival's 15th anniversary.

The nonprofit Santa Fe Film Institute will continue to present the Fest, so you can expect the same top-quality films, premieres, and competition of US independent films, but the new meaning for the same acronym represents the worldwide nature of the festival's film program, which, in 2021, consisted of six foreign submissions to the Academy Awards, more than 25 international feature films, and 34 international shorts.

“We feel like this is much more descriptive of what the festival has become,” says Artistic Director Jacques Paisner. “Hosting local premieres of films like Shoplifters by Hirokazu Kore-eda, The Square by Ruben Östlund, and most recently The Worst Person in the World by Joachim Trier, the festival's international film program is one that represents Santa Fe as a top artistic city”

The 14th annual SFiFF will present Opening Night on October 19th and comes to a close October 23rd, with the Closing Night film and reception.

Early bird passes for 2022 SFiFF are now available for $250 (a $75 discount off of the regular price) and include all the premium benefits of a festival pass.

SFiFF's ultra early bird discount will be available through August 31st; after August 31st, early bird passes increase to $300.

On September 15th, SFiFF's festival passes will be sold at full price for $325. Individual tickets for SFiFF screenings and special events will go on sale after the festival program has been announced on October 1st.
