SCAD Savannah Film Festival honored Mr Blockbuster Jerry BruckheimerThe SCAD Savannah Film Festival 27th annual continued its second and third days with more exciting screenings and conversations. On Sunday, Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley accepted the Icon Award and Luminary Award respectively prior to the screening of “The Substance”, Isabela Merced accepted the Rising Star Award before the screening of “Alien: Romulus”, and Marisa Abela accepted the Next Gen Award followed by a screening of “Back to Black.” On Monday, Daisy Ridley accepted the Lumiere Award prior to the screening of “Young Woman and the Sea”, Jerry Bruckheimer was honored with Legend of Entertainment Award, Kieran Culkin received the Virtuoso Award followed by a screening of “A Real Pain” and Richard Linklater accepted the Lifetime Achievement in Screenwriting Award in advance of the screening of “Hit Man.” 27th SCAD Savannah Film Festival - In Conversation And Award Presentation To Jerry Bruckheimer (Legend of Entertainment Award). A true titan of the industry, Jerry Bruckheimer, Nicknamed "Mr. Blockbuster", is Hollywood writ large. The most successful film and television producer of all time, he is the mastermind behind such monumental films and iconic franchises as Pirates of the Caribbean, Top Gun, National Treasure, Bad Boys, Remember the Titans, Armageddon, The Rock, and Flashdance. On TV, Bruckheimer has also produced some of the most successful series of the last 25 years: CSI, Without a Trace, Cold Case, and The Amazing Race. Sit down with the man who redefined action and adventure and shaped the way we experience spectacle on screen as he shares behind-the-scenes stories, secrets to his unparalleled success, and insights into the future of film and television.

The Savannah College of Art and Design’s 27th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival will take place Oct. 26 - Nov. 2. The largest university-run film festival in the U.S., this eight-day celebration of cinematic excellence honors both professional and student filmmakers and welcomes major industry luminaries, including award-winning directors, writers, and actors. A key stop on the Academy Awards festival circuit, the SCAD Savannah Film Festival will screen 162 films, including 123 narrative feature films, 31 documentary feature films, and 69 shorts, with 10 world premieres and six U.S. premieres. The 2024 schedule includes Gala and Signature Screenings, Special Presentations, professional and student competition films, the Artisans to Watch series, Docs to Watch series, Pixels and Pencils series, the Behind the Lens and Below the Line panel series, and much more.
