San Diego's 2nd Annual Que Viva! Cine Latino


(Chula Vista, California) Media Arts Center San Diego's San Diego Latino Film Festival and Otay Ranch Town Center bring the best of Spanish language shorts and feature films to enjoy this September at the 2nd Annual Que Viva! Cine Latino 2008 presented by AT&T Uverse. In Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the public is invited to experience a collection of popular Latino films. In addition there will be a Latino art exhibit and live entertainment. Held weekly in September, film screenings and events will take place Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM September 3, 10, 17 and 24 in the Food Pavilion at Otay Ranch Town center.  All screenings, and events are free and open to the public.

"Otay Ranch Town Center is the perfect venue for such a wonderful outdoor film series," says Tina Medina, Senior Marketing Manager, "We are honored to highlight such rich and beautiful cultures during Hispanic Heritage Month.  We hope our shoppers will enjoy the films, art and music every week."
The schedule for each evening will include the following: 6:30PM - Arte Latino Exhibition of local and nationally recognized Latino artists & Live Music of local Latino musical groups (including Karlos Paez from B-Side Players, Ballet Folklorico, Tapatio de San Diego, BatuqueDanca Brasil, Maracatu Jangada ); and then, 7:30PM - Screening of short films and a Latino feature films. The film schedule is as follows:
September 3rd -Bella starring Eduardo Verastegui
September 10th-Collection of Short Family Films from past Latino Film Festivals: Tyger, Lapsus, Journey to Mars, Tragic Story with Happy Ending, Nina Que Espera, Saliva, Mi Tio Paco, and El Ataque de Los Kriteros Asesinos
September 17th-The Motorcycle Diaries starring Gael Garcia Bernal
September 24th-Ladron que Roba a Ladron starring Miguel Varoni
Media Arts Center San Diego Founder and Executive Director, , is once again excited about reaching new audiences in the City of Chula Vista via the upcoming Que Viva! Cine Latino film series.  Mr. van Thillo states, "The opportunity to partner with Otay Ranch Town Center in presenting great Latino films for the entire family will hopefully allow everyone to experience a taste of what our annual festival is all about." 

All film screenings and events are free and open to the general public.
