Rotterdam Berlinale express market

Rotterdam-Berlinale Express 2004: Rotterdam's CineMart and the new Berlinale Co-Production Market collaborate.

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and the Berlin International Film Festival will continue with the 'Rotterdam-Berlinale Express'. Five CineMart 2004-projects will be presented during the Berlinale Co-Production Market, which will take place on Sunday, February 8, and Monday, February 9, 2004.

The five selected projects in the Rotterdam-Berlinale Express 2004 are:

3 NEEDLES; Director: Thom Fitzgerald, Producer: Emotion Pictures, Canada COMME TOUT LE MONDE: Director: Pierre-Paul Renders, Producer: Entre Chien et Loup, Belgium THE GOOD HEART; Director: Dagur Kari, Producer Zik Zak Filmworks, Iceland THE PARAFFIN CHILD; Director: Simone Horrocks, Producer: T.H.E. Films, New Zealand SONETÀULA; Director: Salvatore Mereu, Producers: Axelotil Film and Lucky Red, Italy
IFFR-co-directors Simon Field and Sandra den Hamer: "Rotterdam is known as a supportive festival, actively stimulating and promoting independent cinema. CineMart has built up strategic alliances with numerous festivals and markets all over the world, through which we can continuously put the CineMart projects in the spotlights throughout the year. Therefore we are pleased to continue working with Berlin as one of our international partners."

With the new Berlinale Co-Production Market we are looking forward to contributing to the further development of international projects. For the upcoming 21st edition of CineMart, Rotterdam's co-production market, a total of 47 new film projects have been selected for presentation to potential co-producers, TV-stations, distributors, financiers, sales agents and funding bodies. CineMart takes place during the Rotterdam festival from Sunday, January 25, till Thursday, January 29, 2004.


For the upcoming 1st edition of the Berlinale Co-Production Market, a total of 33 projects have been selected. The Berlinale Co-Production Market will take place in the House of World Cultures on January 8 and 9, 2004.
