Digitalisation EYE on the web: exploring ways to present a film collection online EYE Film Institute Netherlands has a large collection of 36.000 films. Many of these have been restored and digitized as part of the Images for the Future project. Now that these films are digitally available, we work hard to open up our beautiful collection to a large audience on the web. We do this though a variety of activities. This talk will give an overview of the ways EYE is presenting its collection online – highlighting projects like Instant Cinema (an online community for experimental film and video art), The Scene Machine (a playful tool to intuitively browse through the collection) and Film in the Netherlands (a site dedicated to Dutch film culture). Annelies Termeer (NED) Project Coordinator Digital Presentation, Eyefilm Works as project coordinator in the Digital Presentation department of EYE Film Institute Netherlands. She joined EYE (then the Netherlands Filmmuseum) in 2008 in the Communication department and gradually shifted focus towards the web. She now manages several projects that open up EYE’s beautiful film collection online, like Instant Cinema, Celluloid Remix and The Scene Machine. Before EYE, Termeer worked in film production, as press officer at the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and as co-director of the Museum Night Amsterdam (n8). Besides her work at EYE, she occasionally writes freelance on new media, art and travel. She holds an MA in Film Studies from the University of Amsterdam.

2.Methods, results and possibilities of international cooproduction Operation Kino The environment in which films in Southeast Europe are being financed, produced and distributed is experiencing significant changes. The investment from Film Funds capped and the need for more funding and co-production possibilities raised. Moreover, the cooperation between countries have become a necessity for local film-makers. What are the most relevant platforms for development, financing, promotion and distribution of audiovisual works today? Operation Kino, a co-financed project initiated by four International Film Festivals (Transylvania IFF, Sofia IFF, Istanbul IFF and the Sarajevo Film Festival, initiated the project) is offering new perspectives in areas with a small audiovisual output, contributing to their development and developing the next generation of talent, with focus on the audience. Ena Dozo (BIH) communication and marketing manager, Sarajevo Film Festival 3. Community-based distribution Magyarhangya ("HungariAnt") A pioneer film distribution model has been created by magyarhangya /hungariANT/ in order to give rise to an independent film distribution with the force of community. We would like to rewrite the rules of the obsolete distribution stucture with the below to up organized power of our youth generation. Gergő Csikós (HUN) organiser, HungariANT 4. Creator woman Judit Acsády (HUN), sociologist (Hungarian Academy of Science) 2. Situation of female artists and professionals in film industry Beyond Bullerby Village. Women in the Scandinavian Film Industry The Scandinavian countries are known worldwide for their gender equality policy, which has the overall objective that women and men should enjoy equal opportunities, rights and responsibilities in all significant areas of life. And probably the Scandinavian countries are the countries with the most women directors. But while more female directors and producers have made a name for themselves in Nordic cinema, the industry is still far from full gender equality. Therefore for example Sweden and Norway have set aside special funding for female filmmakers. Will it bring a breakthrough for women film workers in Scandinavia and can women in other European countries benefit from these experiences? Linde Fröhlich (GER)
