RESFEST is thrilled with the success of its 1st edition in Montreal, which took place November 25-27 at Ex-Centris. More than 3500 people (over 90% of screenings were sold-out!) showed up for an exciting and diverse program of shorts, music videos, animation and features from around the world.

The attendance of prestigious guests Stéphane Sednaoui and Michel Gondry to launch the festival was a very privileged moment, especially when the two film makers shared their visions of the cinema and their creative process with the public. The Casavettes theater in Ex-Centris was packed for this intimate date with two of the most respected directors of their generation.

A public fascinated by new technologies and by innovation in cinema was awed by Resfest’s global film & video extravaganza and its full slate of the world's most forward thinking shorts, creative music videos and streetwise documentaries.

Industry professionals from different backgrounds such as film, design, animation, music have welcomed the festival with enthusiasm. The festival proved to be a fantastic opportunity to discover and view the best short format films and videos produced over the last year from around the world.

RESFEST Montréal will be back at Ex-Centris next year November 24-26 2006.
