Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Festival is open

13th Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival

THE BIG DAY HAS ARRIVED!

The film festival kicks off in just a couple of hours… this gives you just enough time to think up a good excuse to leave work early, get home, get dressed into your sexiest outfit before heading into the city for all-night extravaganza!

The Philadelphia Film Society is thrilled to present the 13th Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, beginning tonight, Thursday, July 12th, 2007 running for the next 12 days and wrapping up on Tuesday, July 24th, 2007.

We promised a non-stop fresh, flesh & fun-filled, two-week summer event and we’re ready to deliver! If you haven’t done so yet, check out the festival program guide, decide what you NEED to see and order your tickets in advance, shows are already getting close to sellout capacity.

NOTE: We’ve only got about a dozen “All Access” Badges left for sale, that’s it. They’re almost all gone! If you don’t get one, you’ll have to buy individual tickets to each show, so order your badge to maximize your festival experience.

OPENING NIGHT: PHILADELPHIA PREMIERE OF
A FOUR LETTER WORD

No, not that four letter word! We’re talking about “love”. This year’s opening-night film is a sexy romantic-comedy that follows a “bar-cruising hottie who finally falls in love…with the wrong guy!”

Directed by Caspar Andreas (Slutty Summer) and starring Charlie David (Dante’s Cove), the recipient of this year’s “Rising Star Award”, A Four Letter Word is sure to put everyone into the “bar-cruising”, “fall-in-love” mentality, just in time for the opening night party at the Hyatt Regency.

The movie gets rolling tonight at 7:30pm at the Prince Music Theater and then the partying begins promptly afterwards as complimentary shuttle service will be on hand to ensure everyone gets to the after-party.

THIS JUST IN!

We confirmed yesterday that ‘hottie’ actor and co-screenwriter, Jesse Archer (shown above shirtless on the left) will be stepping in to attend the opening night film and after-party for Caspar Andreas and Charlie David, who won’t be able to make it.

Don’t worry for a second though, you’ll still get to see Charlie up close and personal when he arrives on Saturday (July 14th) to receive his Rising Star Award at the Prince Music Theater.

(Immediately following the award, he’ll be joining Jesse Archer and producer Markus Goetze to spice up the second screening of A Four Letter Word.
If you thought today was hot… You won’t want to miss you’re chance to see Jesse Archer and Charlie David in the same room together.)

But back to the opening night party… Don’t forget we’ve got DJ Lady Miss Kier (of Deee-Lite) as the guest DJ spinning groovy dance concoctions and keeping the tempo going all night long.

Film Only Admission $15
Party Only Admission $35
Combination Ticket $50 / $45 for PFS Members

FRIDAY THE 13TH
Yes, we’re already thinking about Friday and we haven’t even gotten through all of tonight’s fun yet! But it is Friday, the 13th after all, so naturally we have to have an outrageous horror film on hand… and we do

The Gay Bed & Breakfast of Terror will be screening at 9:30pm at the Arts Bank Theater, and the cast is here to enjoy it with you, so don’t miss out.

If that’s not your style though, here’s a look at the GUESTS THAT WILL BE IN TOWN on Friday.

Blueprint, Friday, July 13th, Arts Banks, 5:00pm – Boi Wonda (Director), Damien Lee, Keith Young-Fountain, Trevite Willis (Producer)
Out At The Wedding, Friday, July 13th, Wilma Theater, 7:15pm – Cathy DeBuono, Andrea Marcellus
Shelter, Friday, July 13th, Wilma Theater, 9:30pm – Jonah Markowitz (Director)
The Gay Bed & Breakfast of Terror, Friday, July 13th Arts Bank, 9:30pm – Jaymes Thompson (Writer/Director), Georgia Jean, Michael Soldier

LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED
If you already have your Friday movies picked out, then GREAT- but you’re only halfway there. Here’s a look at the after-parties so you know exactly where to head after your screening.

BLUEPRINT AFTER PARTY, 6:30pm-8:30pm at Crescent City 600 South 9th Street.
- If you see the movie, then head right to Crescent City afterwards, to mix and mingle with the cast members, producers and the director.

WEDDING RECEPTION, 9:30pm-2:00am at Sisters 1320 Chancellor Street
- That’s right, from the minute the movie ends until the minute that Sisters closes their doors for the night, you can party at The Wedding Reception. Make a toast with the beautiful stars of the film because they’ll be there too.

HELTER SHELTER SOIREE, 11:00pm-1:30am at Sotto Varalli 231 S. Broad Street
- From the folks that brought you Dante’s Cove, this is your chance to enjoy a little face time with director Jonah Markovich. This is his debut film and your best chance to talk one on one about the entire filmmaking process (over drinks of course).
