Sacramento’s Premier Local Film Event
A Place Called Sacramento 2004


Each year Access Sacramento hosts the original local film celebration, A Place Called Sacramento (PCS). PCS starts in the spring as a screen-writing contest to commission ten exciting new films. Over the summer, filmmakers work with Access Sacramento support for a premiere in October at the Crest theater. The program has gained so much in popularity that it has discovered many new film artists and even inspired other film contests.

The PCS presentation is Access Sacramento’s capital fundraising program. The funds it provides help our non-profit mission of giving voice to local residents through media. Since its inception, A Place Called Sacramento (PCS) has initiated the creation of nearly 50 digitally produced films that speak to the very heart and character of our region. This year will see 10 new films including some truly original works like The Adventures of Sac Man and Yard Sale (see list below).
