Onedotzero adventures in moving image

onedotzero launches 'onedotzero industries' production arm with U2's Vertigo global tour festival, DVD label and production company onedotzero has produced visual content for U2's Vertigo world tour.
Producing for U2's show director Willie Williams, onedotzero industries cherry picked a 'dream team' of international creatives including UVA, Julian Opie, The Light Surgeons, Run Wrake and Ed Holdsworth.
Underlining onedotzero's longstanding commitment to spotting, supporting and showcasing new talent, the show also features work from five of the world's hottest motion graphics students. The resulting show is both technologically groundbreaking and artistically progressive.
Launched in San Diego on 28 March, the show incorporates emergent technology to create an unprecedented audiovisual spectacle. Willie Williams brought the visual content of the show to life by developing innovative custom-made LED rigs – the first double sided screens in the world. A series of remarkable 'physical pixels' are suspended on threads behind the stage, allowing video to be displayed 360 degrees around the band, whilst simultaneously permitting an uninhibited view of the performance. From their work with clients such as Massive Attack, BMW and MTV, UVA have been at the forefront of audiovisual system software. onedotzero industries has teamed this technical aptitude with the very best in contemporary visual communication, to deliver a truly revolutionary live show.
In keeping with the company's nine-year history of innovation, onedotzero industries is a new type of production company that capitalises on the company's unique position at the crossroads of new moving image. The annual global festival, and open submissions policy, affords onedotzero industries unparalleled access both to established names and new talent. The universal breadth of this network allows a new, comprehensive approach to production, bypassing the archaically restrictive roster system of artist management.
onedotzero industries works on a project-by-project basis, marrying briefs to directors in a harmonious and powerfully flexible union. Its multidisciplinary approach allows an innovative mixing of styles, techniques and media from non-traditional areas such as graphic design, illustration, new media and VJ culture. onedotzero industries responds directly to the specifics of the job, creating bespoke cinematic solutions that wow audiences and clients alike.
The U2 Vertigo tour builds upon a rich heritage of onedotzero production experience.
onedotzero industries' producer Sam Pattinson has worked on numerous tours for
internationally recognised artists including the Rolling Stones, The Streets, Aerosmith and the Chemical Brothers. Since it's inception, the onedotzero festival has actively encouraged adventures into new forms of moving image through commissions and in-house projects.
In addition to the critically acclaimed shorts Salaryman6 and Tube Mice, onedotzero also produced the internationally successful Channel 4 television series onedottv and recent eclectic promos for established UK bands Asian Dub Foundation and The Charlatans.
Equally at home in the corporate and cultural spheres, onedotzero has worked with some of the world's most dynamic and powerful brands including Nike, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Adobe Europe, Levi Strauss, Absolut, Motorola and Apple Sweden.
