Non Stop Film Festival Blog by Gene Grant

Filmfestivals.com contributor, local reporter and occasional blogger Gene Grant (www.genegrant.com/blog) announced his intentions to watch the entirety of the "New Mexico Filmmakers' Week," at the Guild Cinema, 3405 Central Ave. in Nob Hill, from Friday, June 24th to Thursday, June 30th, front to back.

The event is presented by the New Mexico Film Office (www.nmfilm.com) and will feature 47 hours of both shorts and features. All the films are made by New Mexicans and the event is free.

"This is going to be a stout test of will and my love of indie film, but the opportunity is too good to miss? Grant said. "The blog will be a document of the most comprehensive unfolding of New Mexico independent filmmaking to date. There will be real time reviews, some observational musing, and an occasional cry for help, I'm sure. Wish me luck."

The Guild Cinema, Basement Films, Cinemus Publicas, and Burning Paradise Video are supporting sponsors.

Keif Heneley, co-owner of the Guild Cinema said, "When Gene first told me his idea it reminded me of that old vaudeville joke about the guy who confesses to his friend that he?s been sleeping with his wife. I said, 'Gene, I have to, but you?' Actually, the line up is really interesting," Henely said.

Grant fully expects friends, lovers of spectacle, and enemies of all stripe to visit with food, drink, moist towelettes, Visine and emotional succor. If not in person then in spirit. Or at the very least an instant message. Grant is not anticipating his children?s support or accompaniment, although a visit from Jennifer Lopez wouldn?t suck.

Grant's event is not sponsored, condoned, understood, or philosophically endorsed in either an allegorical or literal sense by the New Mexico Film Office or Governor Richardson.
Posts wil be featured on Gene's Blog and FilmfestivalsTV.com (the fimfestivals videoblog that launched in Cannes)
