MIFED invites the first 100 buyers for free

In 2004, a year particularly rich in events and markets, making it a “busy 2004” MIFED feels it is necessary to work ahead of time, in total partnership with the industry and with special attention to its specific needs: short and long term needs.
Ahead of time and ahead of AFM: dates for MIFED have been moved forward to October 12 to 16.
To that respect, MIFED has prepared a special 2004 participation package with discounts going up to 20% reserved to companies which have exhibited at either the 2002 or 2003 edition.
In the longer term, Mifed sees ahead and takes the opportunity to announce from now a 15% net discount also on 2005 tariffs for the exhibitors who shall continue to see Mifed as their marketplace.

The first 100 buyers to register before April 2004 wil be invited as MIFED 's guests!

AFM had opened hostilities striking with an announcement to re schedule the Santa Monica event to a new fall slot head on against MIFED (while keeping the 2004 spring market)
MIFED strikes back offering a variety of price incentives to visitors and exhibitors.
The Italian Market is now part of a new structure AIP "Audioviual Industry Promtion" with important funding (more than AFM whose memebers cannot afford to loose money).
It seems that AFM who made the move is now trying to play a harder game with sanctions for those who stand against this act of aggression.
In fact we fell into this category probably the explanation to the fact that our journalists could not be accredited for the first time.

I am truly surprised to see french or english trades speak the same understatement language as the ones based in Hollywood (Mifed will die...), we knew who feeds the latter but we forget who fed the former.

I must confess my surprise as to the few reactions among european players media or exhibitors.

Probably a good thing, there is no business sense in starting nasty arguments over USA imposing dictactes on the world business conduct.
American imperialism against an old decaying Europe. Who wants that cliché? It is only business as usual: competition, market share and survival of the fittest and the most aggressive.
Nothing is given anymore, the markets that are lean and mean survive, the fat old one will not. An outsider (BERLIN EFM) will probably the only winner of this situation. First market of the year ahead of Cannes and fall markets.
2004 is a turning point 2005 will be the breking point Rendez vous in autumn 2005 my friends. (You will get 15% on our service fees as well)
