Latin American Coprod forum in Mar del Plata

LATIN AMERICAN COPRODUCTION FORUM

MFM 2006 emphasises the meeting among each of the countries of the region to facilitate the coproductions and, for that, it offers a meeting place among their representatives, within the framework of the Mar del Plata Film Festival’s Latin American projects market.

The Forum’s objective is to unify an annual space where it converges the presentation of future Latin American coproduction projects. Supplies and Demands to build a cinematography maintainable in its variety of resources and that reflects, in the wide range of its culture, a Latin American unity.

This is the opportunity to arrange the meetings among the countries and coproducing companies. Among the directors, producers and companies that need to make their ideas known, as well as their expectations to specify the future Latin American coproductions.

The agreements between both parts are fixed seated face to face, at the work tables, composed of two, three, four and five countries which, in the MFM, gather together to carry on from the first necessary conversations to the signing of the coproduction agreements, and in that way, to turn the ideas into cinematographic works.

The methodology is as follows:
The presentation, according to the instance of the project, is a graphic folder and a digital edition of a CD/diskette composed of::
* Idea
* Synopsis
* Script
* Budget
Specification (detail what is offered in the budget and what is requested to organize the agendas between the countries and companies).
During March 13, 14, 15 and 16, with organized agendas, (they) will keep (their) meetings to make the coproductions.
Projects searchers: they are the project that, even without an agenda, in any of the development stages, want to be presented in the tables where they expose their ideas to Latin American coproduction projects searchers.

Dialogue for the Definitive Strengthening of the Latin American Cinema
Three tables of papers about:
1.Antecedents and Diagnosis of the Latin American Cinema.
2.Weaknesses and strengths in the development of Latin American projects.
3.Policies to be developed for the Definitive Strengthening of the Latin American Cinema.
