Kinofest Manchester shorts to screen end of the month

KINOFILM, 10th Manchester International Short Film Festival runs 24th Feb – 5th March and features 400 films…dozens of premieres…cinema from 21 countries…screenings all over Manchester city centre…live gigs…big industry events…this year’s 10th Kinofilm provides the setting for the biggest expo of short films and features ever seen in Manchester and the North West

On Valentine’s Day, 14th Feb, the state-of-the-art Kino Cinemobile lands in Albert Square, Manchester – and provides a magical setting for the launch and preview of KINOFILM, 10th Manchester International Short Film Festival, supported by Baby Cow Manchester……
and from 2pm onwards we have launches of three major programmes in the Festival …Kino Pick of the Fest…BlueFIRE!…Euro Cine…with guests, actors, writers, directors and a virtual Steve Coogan…


Between 2pm and 3:15pm - Kino Pick of the Fest

What delicatessen of cinematic delights does Kino have on offer this year ? Hear the highlights and see a selection of short films chosen by Kino experts. Star Australian comediene, Kitty Flanagan (Full Frontal, The Sketch Show et al) introduces the award-winning Baby Cow comedy, Dating Ray Fenwick, which she wrote and directed. And top comic actress, Julia Davis (Nighty Night et al), who stars in the short film, will be at the launch too. We also unveil a special hilarious virtual message to Kinofilm from patron, Steve Coogan…not to be missed !

Between 3:30pm and 4:40pm – BlueFiRE!

BlueFiRE! - the cultural cine-festival within the Kino Festival, announces its scorching highlights of top films, live gigs and major events. Plus screenings of a selection of wild short movies from Wales, Mexico, Germany, Belgium and France.

5:30pm – 6:45pm - Euro Cine Launch

A selection of short films from Germany, Spain, France and Italy, previewing the incredible Euro Cine programmes at Kino, in association with the Goethe Institute, Alliance Francaise, Instituto Cervantes and the Dante Alighieri Society, Manchester.

7:15 – 8:30pm – Romantic Tales – Valentine’s Day treat for the skipping heartbeat. Stay around for some smooching…
