Joaquin Phoenix, and Daryl Hannah honored at Artivist

Two time OSCAR Nominee Joaquin Phoenix, and renowned actress Daryl Hannah will be honored at this year’s Artivist Film Festival & Awards.

The 3rd Annual Artivist Film Festival, and The 2006 Artivist Awards will take place November 9-12, 2006 at the renowned Egyptian Theatre in the heart of Hollywood . 70 International Films from around the globe will be presented during the 4 day Festival.
“ARTIVIST” is the 1st international Film Festival dedicated to addressing Human Rights, Children's Advocacy, Environmental Preservation, and Animal Rights. Its mission is to strengthen the voice of international activist artists -"Artivists" - while raising public awareness for social global causes.


In the past 2 years, the Annual Artivist Film Festival has screened 159 international activist Films from 34 countries.

This year’s Film Program not only ranges widely in activist topics, but also feature such noted activist-artists as Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, Martin Sheen, Viggo Mortensen, Elton John, Morgan Spurlock, Brett Ratner, Andy Garcia, Keanu Reeves, and Alannis Morisette.

During the past 2 ½ years, Artivist has reached more than 5,000,000 people with its public relations campaign and has been featured in: ABC-7 News, LA Times, Whole Life Times, Venice Magazine, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Santa Monica Mirror, LA City Beat, USC Daily Troj an, UCLA Bruin, Joinzt Magazine, and many more.

The 3rd Annual Artivist Film Festival and the 2006 Artivist Awards is actively securing Sponsors and Supporters for its upcoming events in November of 2006. In addition, Artivist is launching “THE ARTIVIST NETWORK", and Internet Portal for the artistic, activist, and progressive communities nationwide, reaching more than 1 million visitors each month.
