Imago Fest in Portugal, next October

The IMAGO festival is back!
Fundao,Portugal: 2-9 Ocotober
From 2 to 9 of October, the party of cinema, music, ideas and creativity it will be in Fundão. For all the public, and during a week, the IMAGO 2004 it will be the most important cultural event in the interior of the country. All the information and the accreditation Form for professionals are available in: www.imagofilmfest.com but here you have a resume of the highlights of the programme.

Besides the two competitive sections one for fiction, animation and experimental shorts, and the other for short documentaries, the cinema section of this festival includes a several special programmes, such like: a “Prospective” of the Scottish director Lynne Ramsay, that will be in the festival presenting is work; a retrospective of Martin Scorsese films when young director; the genius, electronic music composer, Matthew Herbert, that will be in the festival presenting three films for witch he makes the original sound track and also to present a Master Class that it will surprise all the participants; the Cinema 16 programme with short films directed by well known directors such like Peter Greenaway, Stephan Daldry, or Cristopher Nolan.

This fifth edition it’s also a reference in the grown up and consolidation of the Sound & Vision section. Film concerts like “The Kid” of Charlie Chaplin with an original sound track composed by the irreverent Maestro Luis Cipriano or the film “Le Brasier Ardent” with a live–mix act presented by the magic British band Alpha.

Regional live acts like the hip hop band Factor Activo, will be mixed up with new and innovating national bands like The Gift that with Rodrigo Leão and Pedro Oliveira will present the project Manchester Mad Remixers in their one interpretation of some important names of the musical history of the 80’s, and with international very special guests like Andy Smith (Portishead DJ), the German hip-hop band Puppetmastaz with their puppets madness or the project Twang , lieder by Jamie Lidell that will be for sure one of the most exciting surprises of the festival. And to close the Sound & Vision programme the explosives Le Hammond Inferno that will let unforgettable marks of an extraordinary show in the memories of the audience.

For the first time, the festival will have the “Heineken Open Space”, a “chill out” space with video projections in a comfortable decoration. In this space, of free access it will be showed several programmes and retrospectives dedicated to the video creation such like: “This is Bungalow”, a programme of 28 videos edited by Bungalow; the “Open Art” programme with a selection of some of the most innovating Japanese animations; the “Shynola” programme with some well known musical video clips; “Muvies PT”, a Portuguese programme that during this week will show some of the best musical video clips made in Portugal; and much more in a space that pretends to give another visibility to the more original forms of art in the audiovisual field
