Imagine Film Festival

The 28th Imagine Film Festival will run 17 to 28 April 2012 - Filmtheater Kriterion & Tuschinski 1

Approx. 70 long and short films,  Night of Terror, Fantastic European Shorts, Anime, Masterclasses, panel discussions and Q&A's
Theme programme: Superheroes, Special focus on Il Luster Producties

Just like in 2010 and 2011, Imagine is once again looking for creative types and home filmmakers who want to go for the Time Capsule Award, the award for the best online film of the festival, created by designer Thijs Ouwehand.

This year's theme: the end. According to the Mayan calendar, the world will stop existing as from the 21st of December of this year. What will this apocalypse look like? Ronald Emmerich made his 2012 into an expensive spectacle, but we think this can be done not only cheaper, but also more inventive. Or more exciting, smarter or funnier. Create your own vision of the downfall of the world and you may get to see it on the big screen prior to an Imagine screening.

Just like previous years, you have a maximum of 30 seconds to portray the theme. Material, technique and form are entirely up to you, but it has to end with the official logo or the dates of the 28th edition: 17 to 28 April 2012. All entries will be posted on the festival site as well. You can also find further instructions there, and watch the (winning) Time Capsule films of previous years for inspiration.

Post your Imagine leader on YouTube with the tags ‘Imagine' and ‘Mayan Prophecy' and then mail the URL, your name and contact details to timecapsule@imaginefilmfestival.nl. The deadline is April 8, 2012.

One winner will be selected from all the entries to receive the prestigious Time Capsule Award (plus mysterious contents) and eternal fame. Well, eternal... only if the Mayas turn out to be wrong of course.

Good luck, have fun and hopefully see you at Imagine!

P.S. All resolutions and formats are allowed, but perfectionists who want to assure themselves of the very best projection quality on our big screen, please take note of the following technical details: minimum resolution 1080p to 2k maximum. Minimum stereo audio with sample rate of at least 48 kHz and a bit depth of 24-bit. Container of the (video) material can be a consecutive TIFF-sequence, .mov or .mxf. Codec in order of preference: Uncompressed, JPEG-2000, ProRes-422-HQ or XDCAM-HD422, Animation Quicktime. If you have any more questions, you can get in touch via file:///C:/Users/gebruiker/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Temporary%20Internet%20Files/Content.Outlook/1GHQG29Y/info@imaginefilmfestival.nl with ‘Time Capsule Specs' in the subject line.
