Join directors Qiankuan Li and Guiyun Xiao at the screening on Thursday. They will say some opening remarks and may stay for an audience Q&A afterward.

The film is a moving portrayal of renowned Chinese composer Xian Xinghai's impoverished childhood in a lowly "Danjia" fishing village in Macau at the turn of the century, and his mother's struggles to bring him up with love despite the hardship. It is also a heartening tale of young Xinghai's fight for success, from the awakening of his musical talent at the bottom of Macau society, to the blossoming of his musical flair in Singapore.
