HD at SATIS Trade Show for Audiovisual Technologies and Solutions

SATIS, the Trade Show for Audiovisual Technologies and Solutions, of which 23rd show will be held from 18 - 20 October 2005 at Paris Expo- Porte de Versailles in Paris, is once again marking its commitment to those in the audiovisual industry, granting a preponderant place to content, technologies and know-how.

SATIS is the only event offering those in the audiovisual industry a cross-disciplinary approach to technological developments, the promotion of the industry skills and vocations, and a diverse, complete representation of the market’s main players.
The 2005 show is pursuing in a natural way its orientation around the convergence of content and audiovisual technologies, with high definition as its privileged theme.
HD will be covered in three parts of the show: the conferences, the new screening area and the 2nd HD Night Night.
In addition to a topicality rich in HDTV, SATIS 2005 will take an interest in all the professional issues in the audiovisual industry, no matter what their market or sector.
The success of the previous SATIS makes it possible already to confirm the
participation in 2005 of new exhibitors and the presence of major market
professionals.
Conferences and HD Auditorium
SATIS 2005 opens its doors on 18 October during an inaugural keynote address
given by a personality from the media world.
SATIS is seeking once again to be a privileged place where visitors are able not only to discover the technological innovations being presented by the exhibitors, but also an event where they can enhance their knowledge, confront their points of view--during conferences--and appraise the panorama of audiovisual production--in the HD Auditorium.
After the lively success of the 2004 show, the Agora Agora, a conference area located in the heart of the show, is expanding to accommodate the visitors/attendees better over the three days:
Day 1: Technical Directors & the Broadcasting Industry - Tuesday 18 October
Day 2: HD & Digital Cinema - Wednesday 19 October
Day 3: Corporations & Local Authorities - Thursday 20 October
Each conference day will be marked by a luncheon for professionals on a theme
following on from the topics of the day:
The Local Channels in Response to DTT Issues- Tuesday 18 October
The Producers and HD - Wednesday 19 October
The Forum International du Son Multicanal Luncheon - Thursday 20 October
The Agora conferences will be filmed this year. Extracts will be broadcast
exclusively over the SATIS Web site. The TV studio present at the Agora will also serve to record broadcasts sponsored by SATIS exhibitors. This service will be carried out entirely by Prodtv.net. The programmes will be integrated into the SATIS TV event channel programme schedule.
At the same time as the Agora conferences, workshops run by the exhibitors will be held in an area dedicated to this purpose and open to everyone.
New for 2005: the establishment of the HD Auditorium with seating capacity for
over 100 persons. Over the three days of SATIS, the auditorium will screen an
exclusive programme. Attendees will be able to watch, in their duration, a wide
range of productions made in HD (TV dramas, short films, documentaries, clips…)
The technical and production teams of the works proposed will be on hand to
present their programme.

The Second HD Night
The 2nd HD Night will be held on Wednesday 19 October 2005 at the Espace
Equinoxe in Paris. Dedicated to the exhibitors and their customers, this unique event will welcome many guests, audiovisual industry professionals, and representatives of institutions. The first HD Night attracted more than 1,000 persons.
The 2005 show promises to establish itself as an even more exceptional even event since a number of new products soon to be talked about will be previewed there!
This year, a demonstration site in the reception area will make it possible to highlight broadcasting and reception technologies for consumers.
HD Night will also mark the official launch of the HD Film Festival to be held in 2006.
The ambition of the HD Film Festival is to award technicians, designers and artists for their know-how in the different categories of professional audiovisual.
Registration will start the first half of 2006. The HD Film Festival will be presided over by a panel of judges composed of personalities whose names will be revealed on HD Night.
Audio in the heart of the show This year, SATIS will give the Audio sector a dominant part: increased presence of exhibitors, the Agora conference: «Audio in public places», and the International Multichannel Sound Forum (IMSF). This 8th IMSF will be held on 20 and 21 October in the TF1 grand auditorium.
Reminder: 2004 in just a few figures
21,642 trade visitors
15,000 m2 of exhibition area
205 exhibitors
700 trademarks
400 journalists
About a thousand guests at HD Night
