Great news: Jafar Panahi temporarily released from Evin prison
Today Friday February 3 and the third day of the hunger strike of Jafar Panahi, Panahi was temporarily released from Evin prison with the efforts of his family, his wife Tahereh Saeedi, film representatives and his lawyers
Additional news will be announced by his lawyers, Mr. Saleh Nikbakht and Yousef Molayi.
Berlinale Solidarity with Jafar Panahi The Berlinale continues to stand in solidarity (see press release from 11.07.2023) with the arrested filmmakers in Iran and the people in Iran fighting for their rights. “We were very concerned for the health of Jafar Panahi and are now very glad that he has finally been released,” say the Berlinale directors Mariëtte Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian.
