Golden Globes awards

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is known worldwide for its Golden Globe Awards at the end of January every year. However, in between those televised gala events, the HFPA members - all working journalists - spend the rest of the year interviewing just about everyone making a splash in motion pictures or on television and proceeding to tell the world about various aspects of show business.
The Golden Globes Awards from the very first (1944) were born out of a wish to create bridges between countries and cultures all around the globe and have, during the years, kept alive a feeling of celebration rather than competition.

The 2004 edition was a brillant demonstration of this.

A smiling Nicole Kidman (Best Actress nominee)followed by her mother Janelle her daughter on the red carpet and Jennifer Lopez who presented the Best Screenplay Award at the 61st Annual Golden Globes adn Scarlett Johansson (Golden Globe nominee) seen on the Beverly Hilton Hotel red carpet.

Lord of the Ring Peter Jackson (4 awards )and Sofia Coppola seen here with her producing partner, Ross Katz, (with their three Golden Globes) were among the happiest.

Best Actress(Motion Picture Drama) Charlize Theron declared the 61st annual Golden Globes Awards the greatest night of her life...and that was before Jack Nicholson kissed her hand backstage
