Foreign Film Festival in Ischia presentation

FOREIGN FILM FESTIVAL
II EDITION 22-26 June 2004

The Art Movie & Music Association is proud to announce that the second edition of the Foreign Film Festival International Contest, the first European Festival dedicated to film locations, will be held in Ischia from 22 to 26 June 2004. The Festival will award productions that promoted little known Italian and European locations or presented them to the public in an original and innovative way through films, TV fiction works and adverts. The idea of creating a Festival dedicated to film locations was born from the pressing market need for an annual appointment that united both films and tourism, whose development has been correlated over the past few years.
From a touristic viewpoint there is a dual tendency: in the first, touristic
promotion passes through the film and often, a film’s success is followed by that of the location where it was set; the second is represented by a strategic choice made by tourist operators who propose theme-based packages, the so called Movie Tours. The reasons why an ever-growing segment of tourists request film-linked offers are dictated by the desire to relive the emotions of the big screen directly on set and to discover the secrets and backstage concealed behind the greatest dream factory of all.

The new edition of the Foreign Film Festival is rich in important novelties:

CINEMA VILLAGE - a display area, which provides a twofold and unique opportunity for the public to meet with both private and public institutions and for the same institutional realities in the different sectors to meet among themselves.

WORKSHOP – aimed at a meeting between demand, represented by Italian and foreign productions and offers from enterprises, film commissions and Italian studios.

CONVENTION on “Film tourism: trends and prospects of a new touristic-cultural phenomenon.”

During 2003, the Foreign Film Festival registered the flow of an extraordinary multitude of people, more than 3000 spectators, with a strong interest from the media and more than 280 articles in reviews. We hope we can count on your presence, which will surely provide a substantial contribution to the development of this event
