Final chapter 12 of Rex Weiner's "A Festival Wife"

Do not miss the final chapter 12 of Rex Weiner's "A Festival Wife" which has just been published on fest21.com it will also be launched may 21st at 5.30 from Film France Pavillon in the International Village in Cannes...up in the air, with 12 balloons off croisette to a luck reader who will get to read the full version of the novel.

Filmfestivals.com, the leading online source for global film festival news and resources, is posting the final chapter of "A Festival Wife," a first novel by former Variety reporter Rex Weiner, on Wednesday, May 20, during the last week of the 2009 Cannes Film Festival

Launching the first chapter of the romantic thriller on March 25, 2009, a new chapter of "A Festival Wife" has appeared weekly, attracting a following of more than 1000 readers to its site on Fest21.com (http://www.fest21.com/en/blog/a_festival_wife ), the online company's new blog platform.

The novel will remain online for three weeks after the Cannes Film Festival, after which it will be published as an e-Book available for download purchase from M21 Editions.

"Our Festival circuit audience has enjoyed discovering a fiction they know all too much in reality. The idea of unveiling the book in a Web 2.0 way felt very appropriate. We think readers of A Festival Wife will be rewarded by the surprise ending that we are revealing here at the San Lorenzo Festival...oops, I meant Cannes Film Festival," said M21 Editions founder and chief Bruno Chatelin. Malo Girod de l'Ain, his partner at filmfestivals.com and fest21.com added "We have always loved staying in front of the curve in the publishing business, especially when it means going online and publishing in e-Book format"

"Film festivals and film markets are full of romance and intrigue, with lots of fascinating people, and my years covering them as a reporter were the inspiration for my story," said Rex Weiner. "I'm very pleased that M21's Bruno Chatelin and Malo Girod de l'Ain, the experts in the film festival world, have delighted so many readers by publishing my novel in a way that combines the Dickensian serial tradition with today's innovative technology."

"A Festival Wife" is a romantic thriller that takes place at the fictional San Lorenzo Film Festival and in the classic tradition of the roman a clef follows a cast of fictional characters moving amidst real-life movers and shakers in the film industry. The story focuses on the regular attendees who are caught up in conflicted love stories, financial intrigues and un-buried secrets from the town's wartime past during the festival's last days. The novel is illustrated by Nesta Morgan, whose sketches accompany each chapter.
